THE SYSTEM DISEASES OF THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM : VOMITING BLOODY VOMITUS HAEMORRHAGICA) - etiology, pathogenesis, symptoms and course of, recognition, prediction and prevention
Etiology and pathogenesis. Bloody vomiting as a reflex act occurs as a result of disease of the stomach (ulcer, cancer) or changes in other organs, causing poor circulation in the walls of the stomach and esophagus (cirrhosis, thrombosis v. portae, v. lienalis), or, finally, as a result of changes in the blood and blood vessels throughout the body, predisposing to bleeding (hemorrhagic diathesis, zynga, sepsis, and others).
The symptoms that accompany bloody vomiting, depending on the size of the bleeding can be reduced to the appearance of dizziness, pale face, cold sweat; the pulse becomes small, frequent, blood pressure falls.
Course and complications depend on the nature of the pathologic process. Hematemesis may be small and repeated that often occurs when stomach cancer and hemorrhagic diathesis, but may be abundant, as with a stomach ulcer. Power bleeding and timeliness of the measures taken will determine the fate of the patient.
Recognition painful process that causes bloody vomiting, possibly taking into account all of the research data.
Prediction, prevention and treatment depend on the underlying suffering and sizes of bleeding (see also Ulcer of stomach and duodenum).
