With the onset of lent many people from religious beliefs or health reasons cease to consume meat, dairy products and eggs. This considerably limits the intake of protein. And the huge role of these substances in the organism vital activity can confirm these facts: scientists call proteins proteins, which means the first, most important; secondly, our body by 35% consists of solids, 85% of which are proteins that not only are the building blocks for each new cells, but also control the thousands of chemical reactions in the body. There is an urgent need to find other sources of those extremely important substances, in order not to harm the functioning of different organs and systems. And here the most suitable are nuts, plain walnuts, who so generously give birth to our land of plenty. Because the cores contain 20% protein with all the indispensable amino acids. In addition, vitamins E TA F, S, R, Tocopherols, a rich mineral complex, in particular, iron, cobalt, phosphorus, fluorine, copper. Given this, the nuts are not only great food, but also medicinal value: quenched protective forces of the body, stimulate the brain, stimulates the muscles apparatus, protect against colds, cancer, thrombosis, atherosclerosis, diseases of the digestive tract, aging, etc. Famous Ukrainian doctor-phytotherapeutist, Professor Fyodor Mamchur wrote: "If to compare kilograms of nuts with other products, it appears that nutritionally it is equivalent to a kilogram of meat, fish, liter of milk, a kilogram of bread, potatoes and pears together. Beans with walnut sauce Boiled beans (2 cups) to put in a bowl and pour the sauce: kernel-5 nuts pour over boiling water, remove the skin and dry skillet and chop (RUB with a rolling pin); 25 g of mustard combine the sugar (35 g), add 1 tablespoon of Apple cider vinegar, well mixed, add nuts. Feeding on the table, sprinkle with parsley.

Carrot salad 2 carrots to RUB on a large grater, 2 apples cut into cubes, all mixed with honey (1 tablespoon), lemon zest and juice of half a lemon, put in a bowl and sprinkle with toasted walnut kernels (2-3 tbsp).

Nut cake with jam Dilute 1 glass jam 1 Cup of warm water, add half a Cup of vegetable oil, 1 cups sugar, 1 tsp. soda and cinnamon, a little powdered cloves and mix well. Add 1 Cup chopped nuts, and 2 cups flour. Baked pie cool, cut into pieces and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
