DISEASES OF THE SKIN : BRIMICOMBE OR PYOGENIC OF PELLETS (BOTHRYOMYCOMA. GRANULOMA PYOGENICUM) - etiology, pathogenesis, symptoms and course of, recognition, prediction and prevention
A form of chronic pyoderma (see). The causative agent is Staphylococcus; in pathogenesis, may play the role of trauma. Sometimes brimicombe occurs at the site of the former suppurative process.
Symptoms. Tumor formation, usually small in size from a small pea to a cherry, spherical, rarely oval, sometimes a mushroom shape, often with short peduncle, dense elastic consistency, juicy. Tumor surface is sometimes smooth, often sosočkovidnyh, granular, sometimes warty, usually of a red color, with richly developed vessels, bleeding easily and ulcerate; in the latter case, the tumor is often covered with crusts. Localization, often on areas of the skin exposed to trauma - the hands, at least the feet and on the lips, on the mucous membrane of the gums, less sky.
For benign. The tumor (of pellets) first grows rapidly, then long months remains unchanged.
Surgical removal of the tumor together with the stalk diathermocoagulation.
