EYE DISEASES : CATARACT TOXIC (CATARACTA TOXICA) - etiology, pathogenesis, symptoms and course of, recognition, prediction and prevention
Etiology. A metabolic (diabetes), azotemia and intoxication.
The pathogenesis. The malnutrition of the lens due to the appearance of toxic metabolic products or toxins in the blood and intraocular fluids, which leads to swelling and clouding of the lens fibers.
Symptoms. Fast growing graying of the pupil, often with symptoms very sluggish iritis or anterior uveitis.
For. Develops within a few weeks, after which the clouding of the lens takes quite persistent irreversible.
The recognition is based primarily on data from the General study patient (the study of blood, urine); sometimes recognition helps the presence of General symptoms of poisoning.
Early detection and vigorous treatment of the processes leading to the development of cataracts.
Total treatment caused the development of the process cataract. Locally atropine drops. After the final remission of all inflammatory phenomena operative treatment.
