EYE DISEASES : DIPHTHERITIC INFLAMMATION OF THE CONJUNCTIVA (DIPHTHERIA CONJUNCTIVAE) - etiology, pathogenesis, symptoms and course of, recognition, prediction and prevention
Etiology. Infection by the Bacillus of diphtheria. Disease or transferred to the conjunctiva of the upper respiratory tract, or startles her primary.
The pathogenesis. The introduction of microbes causes acute inflammation and very dense swelling, compressing the vessels to their almost complete bleeding. Eating and vascularity of the mucous membrane contributes to its necrosis, disintegration and exclusion as a characteristic grey membrane.

The introduction of diphtheria serum in large doses, even in doubtful cases. Locally warm lotions, massage conjunctiva with yellow ointment, vipiana diphtheria serum. After separation films moxibustion 1 - 2% solution of silver nitrate, as in acute conjunctivitis. Eye wash solution of potassium permanganate. Ulcers of the cornea eserine and ointments (like when amenorrhea). Eye ointment.
