Etiology and pathogenesis NOMA (POMS)

Symptoms and course NOMA (POMS)

Symptoms. The destruction of the gums, bad breath, fever. Often gangrenous process begins with the mucous membrane of the cheeks.

Complications.

The bone necrosis, sepsis, significant disruption of the soft tissues of the cheeks.

Proper nutrition, adequate introduction of vitamin C.

Treatment.

Douching mouth with 3% hydrogen peroxide solution. In the initial stages of lubrication affected area of mucous membrane with a 10% solution orally as tablets in glycerol, the introduction into the oral cavity of iodoform. Intravenous orally as tablets. Intramuscular and topical application of penicillin. Ascorbic acid 300 - 500 mg per day. Surgical removal of all diseased tissue with subsequent grafting.
